our philosophy

Flowers offer the perfect antidote to our increasingly disconnected world. They remind us of the irreplaceable beauty and intelligence of the earth—its transience, its gentle bidding to be here now.

At Floriographie, we believe a gift of flowers embodies gratitude and grace and can inspire anyone to feel loved and appreciated.

Floriographie emphasizes mindful floristry, where arranging blooms is not only an aesthetic practice but an ethical and spiritual one.

about nancy

Nancy’s professional background in dance, writing, and art as well as her lifelong love of gardening and the natural world inform her practice in floral design.

Having spent nearly two decades living, studying, and working in Thailand, England, Ireland, Wales, India, Belgium, and the Netherlands, Nancy is inspired by diverse cultural approaches to design.

She now calls the shores of Georgian Bay in Ontario, Canada, home. She lives with her two parakeets, Phoebe and Eira; her cockatiel, Jean-Joy; and her Husky-Saint Bernard, Bentley.

garden grown

From late spring to early autumn, we source some of our blooms and foliage straight from our garden. We tend to a variety of species, from poppies, hydrangea, hibiscus, peonies, dahlias, jasmine, roses, to an array of herbs. Everything is grown with love.

sustainably-sourced

Whenever possible, Floriographie sources its flowers mindfully from local farms and fair-trade Canadian sellers, ensuring the entire process is ethical and environmentally sustainable. We avoid single-use plastics and work with organic and recycled materials.
